New SLO Brew Pub and Performance Venue in Downtown San Luis Obispo Opens in June
(San Luis Obispo, CA) – SLO Brew, the longest operating brewpub on California’s Central Coast, is proud to announce that the national entertainment group, Knitting Factory Presents (KFP), will be taking over talent buying duties at SLO Brew. Knitting Factory will help launch SLO Brew’s new gastropub and music venue in Downtown San Luis Obispo at 736 Higuera Street, just half a block away from the SLO Brew’s old location.
SLO Brew has been offering its signature craft beer, food and music experience to its fans for nearly three decades, and is renowned for its authentic and intimate performances from local favorites and world famous bands. With the opening of its new location, SLO Brew is providing its fans more amenities than ever, including an entertainment space outfitted with a state-of-the-art sound system, and mezzanine viewing level alongside indoor and outdoor dining options.
Megan Jacobs Araujo, who currently books Knitting Factory’s Federal Bar in Long Beach, will handle bookings for the new 300-capacity SLO Brew. She expects to book a variety of acts to appeal to the interests of locals, students and visitors alike.
“SLO Brew is an exciting brand,” said Knitting Factory President, Mark Dinerstein. “It has a location perfect for booking artists between the Bay Area and Southern California and has plans for venue expansion in Central California.”
“For years, SLO Brew has featured countless intimate performances by local and world famous musicians,” said Hamish Marshall, co-owner of SLO Brew. “With Knitting Factory Presents’ expertise, SLO Brew will continue to offer the best live music experiences on the Central Coast.”
Knitting Factory currently owns and/or operates four Knitting Factory live music venues and three Federal Bar restaurants, while booking or managing several more under the Knitting Factory Presents banner in Omaha, New York and Montana. SLO Brew is the perfect addition to the growing list of KFP booked venues, which has increased significantly over the past several years.
About SLO Brew
Since 1988, SLO Brew has been an integral part of San Luis Obispo’s cultural scene, brewing award-winning craft beers and regularly featuring performances from both local and internationally recognized artists. Today, SLO Brew is composed of three venues, The Brew, The Rock and The Lofts, giving the community more options for entertainment, accommodations, eating, drinking and hanging out. While The Brew will maintain its local spirit by serving up gastropub fare and intimate shows, The Rock offers expanded brewing and canning capacities as well as a tasting room, beer garden, restaurant and a concert and event space. The Lofts feature contemporary one-, two-and three-bedroom suites perched directly above The Brew. Together, the three venues offer a complete experience that’s perfect for any type of night out or celebration.
